Description

Jimmy McGhie will be hosting for the third time - back by popular demand. Jimmy was an Assistant Producer for the BBC’s Science and History Department, having spent seven years working in factual television before joining the stand-up comedy circuit professionally in 2009. Since then, he has performed stand-up all over the world and appeared on numerous television and radio programmes. The ceremony will also be followed by a DJ and disco.

We have some bedrooms held on allocation basis which guests can book directly with the hotel at the rate of £199 inclusive of bed and breakfast. All room bookings taken from the allocation will require a debit/credit card to secure the reservation at time of booking and guests will be required to make payment to the hotel directly. Call the hotel on: 0113 259 5318 to secure the rooms, mention you are attending the BASA event on 20th November.

Please note: The allocation block will be released on 25th September 2026, 8 weeks prior to the event date. Any further bedrooms required for guests after this date will be charged at the hotel's best available selling rate. If no rooms are available directly, there may still be rooms available on 3rd party sites e.g. Hotels.com.

Each year, the BASA Chair selects a charity to support through the BASA Showcase®. This year, our Chair Jenny Barnett, a strong advocate for mental health, has chosen to support Samaritans and YoungMinds charity. We will be collecting donations on the night by cash or card to split between the two organisations.
